Popular reality television star and The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville has no shame and is thankful she had an abortion as a teen. Brandi had already divorced Eddie Cibrian before she joined Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. At the time, the exes weren’t on good terms as their relationship ended badly. While Eddie was planning to marry his then-fiancée LeAnn Rimes, Bravo fans watched Brandi go through the agony of losing her husband and watching him start a new life with another woman.
However, lately, the former couple appears to have settled their differences and have been concentrating more on their children. Brandi and Eddie, who tied the knot in 2001, welcomed their first son, Mason, in 2003 and their second son, Jake, in 2007. The former couple’s sons seem to be the basis of their improved relationship. The Can’t Fight the Moonlight singer celebrated Mason’s 18 birthday with Eddie and his wife, LeAnn. She posted photos from the celebration on social media and gushed over the teenager, “It’s my birthday too I spit you out of my womb 18 years ago today💗💗 this is literally the busiest month of my life💗💗💗.”
However, while Brandi undoubtedly loves her life as a mother, she once felt unfit for the role. According to a revelatory tweet from the TV personality, she had an abortion when she was 17 years old. The Unfiltered podcast host, who now has teenage kids of her own, wrote, “I don’t have any shame about my abortion &thank God I had a choice. I was 17 a senior in high school I was in an emotionally abusive relationship and I was on birth control pills and I still became pregnant.” Brandi concluded her tweet by noting that she is still thankful she had a choice as she had been a child herself at the time.
Many tweets supported Brandi’s notion as they believed people should have the right to make choices, especially about their bodies. Brandi’s tweet came at the height of the current discussion over an opinion authored by Associate Justice Samuel Alito against the constitutional right to abortion. Many celebrities have since aired their reaction to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade verdict after nearly 50 years. In addition, celebrities have also spoken up about their personal experiences with abortion as they advocate for reproductive rights.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills alum Brandi is another celebrity showing that women can choose to abort their pregnancies. Brandi’s tweet about how she had been in an abusive relationship and had gotten pregnant at 17 showed that having an abortion was advisable for her at the time, as having a child in such a situation would have most likely been unhealthy. However, the situation could have worked differently for any other person as some people do not support abortion. Yet, in Brandi’s case, it turned out to be the right decision, which is why she felt she should share her story with the world.
