regulated whereby one learns through a mix of working in the hospital or Care Home

and also attending a vocational school. Nurse apprenticeship learners will

spend 2500 hours on the workplace and 2100 hours in school.

Currently (2022/23) at least € 900 gross per month in the first year of training.

The amount of the allowance depends on: the employer and the city in

which you are doing the apprenticeship.​

vocational school qualifications or a degree are often an advantage,

Germany are free of charge and there is no placement fee or any

additional costs. During this kind of apprenticeship you will get a

salary by your German employer which provides sufficient

means for living in Germany. However you need to cover

costs for visa, transportation to Germany and in Germany

as well as for your accommodation and other personal costs

for living on your own.

What comes after the apprenticeship in nursing?

However at the end of the examination at the end of the vocational

training an official graduation with the permit certificate nursing specialist

(“Pflegefachkraft”), which also entitles you to work in the area

of care in Germany (legally and with a German working contract).
